In the 1920’s women’s fashion started to change. Women started wearing short dress, knee length or higher, rolled down stocking, using ample amounts of makeup, dancing the “Charleston”, and smoking. These women became known as “flappers”. Many women still considered themselves traditionalists and looked down on flappers because of what they felt was a disregard for morality. This signifies the 20's because it shows when women started to wear shorter dresses instead of ankle lenth dresses, and today's fashion started to take shape around it. I picked this topic because it sounded interesting.

The Corset was a big thing in the 1920's,washerwomen, prostitutes, thieves are some of the type of women who wore these. Corsets make women have an hourglass figure and make them more appealing to men. Many types of women can wear them. When wearing a Corset one can not take in food as easly. When you first are wearing one you must not tighten it very tightly so it can get broken in. I picked this topic because I've always been intersted in Corsets, and how they worked.

When Coco Chanel started designing by taking and borrowing small details from men’s clothing wear and came up with collections of women clothing wear. Chanel is also responsible for today’s modern day little black dress. Still to this day Chanel designs are still around. Chanel was born in Saumur, France in 1883. Her name when she was born was Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, and the she had it changed to Coco Chanel.
